Privacy Policy
Last updated: 23 October 2026
I am Andrew James Paterson, a business, marketing and digital consultant based in Durban, South Africa, and the creator of REMAP™. This policy explains how I handle personal information when you use andrewjamespaterson.co.za or contact me through it.
For privacy questions or requests, email hello@andrewjamespaterson.co.za or call +27 76 119 4387.
My business contact address is: 23 Ambleside Avenue, La Lucia, Durban, 4051, South Africa.
Information you provide
If you use the enquiry form, I collect your name, email address, the service you select and your message. You can also provide an organisation name and phone number. Those two fields are optional.
I need the required information to receive and respond to a form enquiry. You can also contact me directly by email, telephone or WhatsApp. Those services process information under their own terms and privacy arrangements.
Please include only the information needed to explain your enquiry. You do not need to send identity documents, passwords, financial records, or personal information about pupils, members or other people through this form.
What I use it for
I use enquiry information to respond, understand the work you need, discuss a possible project and keep a record of the conversation.
The form stores the enquiry in a database. It prepares a notification to my inbox and an automatic acknowledgement to you. Email availability can affect when these arrive. These messages relate to your enquiry. Sending an enquiry does not subscribe you to marketing emails.
If we work together, the project agreement and any applicable privacy arrangements will explain additional information needed for that work.
Technical information and analytics
The website and its service providers may process technical information needed to deliver and protect the service, such as request times, device and browser information, network information and error records. The enquiry system uses safeguards to limit spam and repeated submissions.
Google Analytics is optional. It is not loaded by this website until you accept optional analytics. Accepting allows it to measure page visits, successful enquiries and contact-link clicks. Rejecting leaves necessary website features available without this optional tracking. There is no marketing enrolment.
You can reopen Privacy choices in the footer and reject optional analytics at any time. This stops future analytics activity from this website and removes known first-party Google Analytics cookies accessible to it. Withdrawing consent does not remove data already received by Google. Your versioned choice is saved in this browser until you change it, clear browser storage or the choices are updated.
Analytics events do not include your enquiry message, name, email address or phone number. Analytics page locations exclude query strings and fragments. Google controls its service processing and retention under its applicable terms; you can ask me about analytics information and deletion requests.
Native Lovable visitor analytics is disabled. Necessary hosting and security records are processed independently of optional Google Analytics choices.
Service providers and international processing
I use Lovable Cloud for website hosting, database storage and transactional email infrastructure, and Google Analytics when you accept optional analytics. The website database is hosted in Europe (Ireland). These providers and their underlying infrastructure providers may process technical information and personal information outside South Africa.
Provider terms, processing locations and applicable legal requirements govern that processing. I consider the applicable arrangements when using these services. The database location does not mean that all email, analytics, logs or backups stay in Ireland. Contact me if you need information about the arrangements relevant to your enquiry.
I do not sell enquiry information. I may disclose information where required by law or where necessary to handle a legal matter.
Access and security
I limit access to enquiry information to people and service providers who need it to operate the website, respond or carry out agreed work. The website uses technical safeguards to protect stored information and restrict public access to enquiry records. No online service can promise complete security.
How long I keep information
For enquiries that do not become a client project, I retain the enquiry and related correspondence for up to 24 months after the last contact, unless a legal obligation or an ongoing matter requires longer retention.
I review these records manually, including relevant inbox copies, and maintain last-contact and client-status records. There is no automatic deletion of external inbox correspondence.
Where an enquiry becomes a project, relevant information may be retained for the engagement and applicable contractual, accounting or legal requirements. I delete or de-identify information when it is no longer needed for a lawful purpose, subject to backups and necessary operational records. Suppression records may be kept to respect delivery restrictions.
Your rights and requests
Subject to applicable law, you can ask to access or correct your personal information, request deletion where appropriate, or object to relevant processing. I may need enough information to verify your identity before acting on a request. If processing relies on consent, you can withdraw that consent without changing the lawfulness of earlier processing.
Contact me at hello@andrewjamespaterson.co.za. You can also complain to the Information Regulator of South Africa: POPIAComplaints@inforegulator.org.za, telephone 010 023 5200, or https://inforegulator.org.za/complaints/.
Policy updates
I may update this policy as the website or its services change. The date at the top shows when this wording was last updated.
